Terms & ConditionsThese Terms and Conditions govern all aspects of participation in the TripRewards Guest Rewards Programme (sometimes referred to as the “Programme”) and are effective on the launch of the Programme.
I. General Information1. TripRewards is offered by Travel Rewards, Inc., a subsidiary of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, and by Travel Rewards Inc.’s successors and assigns (“Sponsor”). These Terms and Conditions are subject to interpretation by Sponsor in its sole discretion and are governed by New York law. 2. Sponsor may modify, alter, delete or add new terms and conditions, procedures, point values, redemption levels, conversion ratios, conditions for active status, rewards, “Earning Participants” or “Rewards Participants” (as defined below) to the Programme at any time without notice. In addition, Sponsor may convert TripRewards and Members’ TripRewards points into a different awards programme having different point values at any time without notice. This means that the number of points needed to reach a rewards level may be increased, the time for earning them reduced, or the rewards changed, so you may not be able to obtain, earn or claim certain rewards no matter how long you participate in the Programme. Sponsor may terminate the TripRewards Programme at any time six months after it announces such termination, without further obligation to the Member. This means that regardless of the amount of time you participate in the Programme, your right to accumulate additional TripRewards points or other Programme currency and claim rewards under the Programme may be terminated and all accrued TripRewards points in your account cancelled six months after termination of the Programme is announced. 4. Only individuals that are 18 years of age or older may enrol in the TripRewards Programme (Members). Corporations, groups and other entities are not eligible. Members cannot maintain more than one account or share accounts. 5. Under TripRewards, Members can earn TripRewards points or airline miles, or similar currency in participating airline programmes. TripRewards points can be earned through qualified stays (as defined in Section II (B)) at “Participating Hotels” and “Outrigger Hotels” car rentals, travel activities, and purchases from participating merchants or service providers as described in greater detail in Section II (collectively referred to as “Earning Participants“. Airline miles can only be earned through qualified stays at participating hotels.
6. TripRewards points can be redeemed for hotel and vacation resort stays, airline miles and tickets, and car rentals, as described in greater detail in Section III (collectively referred to as “Rewards Participants”). 7. TripRewards points expire four (4) years after being posted to the Member’s account, unless forfeited or cancelled earlier due to membership inactivity or otherwise in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. All issues regarding the value, redemption and expiration of airline miles will be governed by the terms and conditions then in effect for the applicable airline rewards programmes. 8. TripRewards points in a Member’s account do not constitute property of the Member, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred during or after the Member’s life, by operation of law or otherwise. 9. A Member’s TripRewards account can be terminated and all accrued points cancelled or forfeited if the Member has no account activity for a period of 18 consecutive months. Account activity is defined as the earning or redemption of TripRewards points. In addition, the earning and redemption of airline miles in a Member’s linked airline rewards program through TripRewards is included in the definition of activity. 10. Sponsor, at its option, may also send to Members periodic statements by mail or electronically. Members may access their TripRewards point balance and airline earning history at any time online or by calling TripRewards Member Services. TripRewards Member Services will be closed on the following United States holidays: Memorial Day (last Monday in May), Independence Day (4th July), Labour Day (1st Monday in September), Thanksgiving (3rd Thursday in November), and Christmas (25th December). 11. Fraud or abuse of the TripRewards Programme by Members is subject to administrative and/or legal action by Sponsor including, but not limited to, termination of the Members account, forfeiture of all accrued TripRewards points, airline miles, and/or cancellation of any previously issued rewards. Sponsor may terminate or suspend a Member’s account and/or cancel points in his/her account, if the Member fails to pay the bill of any hotel, travel supplier or other Earning or Rewards Participant. 12. Sponsor and its affiliates make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding any product or service provided by any Earning or Reward Participant including, but not limited to, any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Sponsor and its affiliates will not be responsible for performance or failure to perform of any Earning or Reward Participant, or for any costs, damages, accident, delay, injury, loss, expense, or inconvenience that may arise in connection with the use of or a defect in any products or services of any Earning or Rewards Participant. 13. TripRewards points, airline miles and rewards earned through the Programme may be subject to tax, which is the sole responsibility of the Member and will not qualify to earn additional TripRewards points or airline miles. 14. Participation in the TripRewards Programme and/or the awarding and redemption of TripRewards points, airline miles are void where prohibited by law. 15. Members are responsible for communicating name and address change information to TripRewards. Changes can be made via the TripRewards website or by calling TripRewards Member Services. 16. Use of the TripRewards website is subject to the Terms of Use found on the home page of the TripRewards website. No warranties are made as to the content of the website or that the functions of the website will be uninterrupted or error free. Use of the website is at the Member’s own risk. 17. In the event that any TripRewards points or airline miles are erroneously posted to a Member’s account, Sponsor may have them removed from the Member’s account. II. EarningA. Earning Generally 1. Members can earn TripRewards points through qualified stays at Participating Hotels (as defined in Section I above), Outrigger Hotels and car rentals. Members can only earn airline miles through qualified stays at Participating Hotels and only if they are also members of the participating airline or rail travel rewards programme. 2. Members must indicate within their TripRewards profile whether they want to earn TripRewards points, airline miles, for qualified hotel stays. If a Member does not complete a TripRewards profile or he/she does not indicate a preference in his/her profile, he/she will earn TripRewards points. If a Member wishes to change his/her earning option, he/she must do so before the stay in question via the TripRewards website or by calling TripRewards Member Services. Members may not earn a combination of TripRewards points and airline miles, for the same stay. 3. If a Member wishes to earn airline miles, the member must provide his/her own travel rewards number when filling out his/her profile. If the travel rewards number provided is not the number of the Member who had the qualified stay, he/she will not earn airline miles or TripRewards points for the stay. 4. Members must provide their TripRewards membership number when they book a room or purchase goods or services from an Earning Participant in order to assure the accrual of TripRewards points or airline miles. 5. Once airline miles in a designated airline programme have been awarded to a Member, they cannot be exchanged for airline miles in another airline programme or converted into TripRewards points. 6. The terms and conditions in effect at the time in question for the applicable airline or rail travel rewards programme will govern the redemption and transfer of miles earned in such programmes. 7. TripRewards points will usually be posted to a Member's account within four to six weeks after the activity through which they were earned. Airline miles will usually be posted to a Member's account within six to eight weeks after the earning activity. 8. If the proper number of TripRewards points or airline miles is not posted to a Member's account, the Member must visit the TripRewards website or call TripRewards Member Services within 12 months of the earning activity for proper point crediting. For points earned through a hotel stay, the Member may be required to provide his/her membership number, dates of applicable stay, name and address of the Participating Hotel, and a copy of his/her bill. The exception to contacting TripRewards for point discrepancies is for point earnings through Outrigger Hotels, Avis®, Budget® and Sixt Rental Car®. In these cases the Member must contact customer service of such Earning Participants as follows: B. Earning at Participating Hotels and Outrigger Hotels 1. To earn TripRewards points, a Member must be a registered paying guest, at a Participating Hotel or an Outrigger Hotel, present his/her TripRewards membership card upon check-in and meet the other conditions of this Section B. If a hotel ceases to be a Participating Hotel or an Outrigger Hotel after a Member books his/her reservation, the stay will not qualify for the accrual of TripRewards points. TripRewards members, who have a qualifying stay at a Participating Hotel in accordance with the above, may elect to receive airline miles in lieu of TripRewards points. Airline miles points cannot be earned for stays at Outrigger Hotels. 2. Point and mileage accrual is limited to individual travel that is not otherwise restricted. TripRewards points or airline miles will not be awarded when stays are associated with any of the following non-qualified rates: Employee, Travel Agent Education, group, wholesale, package Transportation/crew and other special contract rates, or free night stays. Most rates available through tour operators and travel websites (excluding triprewards.com and the Participating Hotel Chain websites) such as Priceline, Hotwire, Travelocity, Expedia and Orbitz are wholesale rates and therefore do not qualify to earn TripRewards points or airline miles. 3. A Member is eligible to earn TripRewards points or airline miles, as the case may be, for up to two rooms in addition to the Member's personal guest room as long as all charges are posted to the Member's room invoice or folio and paid for by the Member. The hotel should be notified of this request at the time of check-in. If two or more TripRewards Members share a guestroom, only the paying Member will be awarded TripRewards points or airline miles. 4. TripRewards Members staying at a Participating Hotel are eligible to receive either: (a) TripRewards Points - 10 TripRewards points per U.S. $1.00 spent, or
Points or mileage calculated on hotel spend will be based on the US dollar amount actually paid for the room rate only. Non-qualified rate plans, taxes, food and beverage, and other incidentals do not qualify. For hotel stays outside of the United States, the amount paid will be converted into U.S. dollars at the exchange rate in effect when the Participating Hotel transmits the stay information to TripRewards. TripRewards Members staying at Outrigger Hotels will only be eligible to earn ten (10) TripRewards points for each US $1 paid for the room rate. Aeroplanprogram terms and conditions apply. Aeroplan is a registered trademark of Air Canada. 5. A new Member can earn TripRewards points on qualified stays occurring within 30 days before enrolment only at Participating Hotels by visiting the TripRewards website and emailing TripRewards Member Services or calling TripRewards Member Services within 12 months after enrolment. The Member may be asked to provide his/her hotel receipt and TripRewards Member number, dates of applicable stay, and name and address of the Participating Hotel. The stay must have occurred after the launch date of the TripRewards programme for the participating Hotel Chain to qualify. Members cannot earn airline miles for stays before enrolment. 6. A “stay“ means one or more consecutive nights that a Member stays at a Participating Hotel or a Destination Hotel and Holiday Resort. 7. If the property requires a credit card for a reservation, the Member is a no-show, and the hotel charges his/her credit card for the first night of the no-show stay, the Member will receive points for such night as if he/she had stayed. C. Car Rental Earning TripRewards Members can earn 50 points per rental day on qualifying rentals from Avis® or Budget® at participating locations around the world but a maximum of 1,500 points per rental per month will be applied. TripRewards Members can also earn 500 points per qualified rental from Sixt Rental Car. For information on Avis or Budget or Sixt Rental Car please visit their websites. A qualified rental is defined as any single rental of a single vehicle for one or more consecutive rental days at a participating Avis or Budget airport location in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany or China for which a TripRewards Member has paid the qualifying rate. Qualifying rates exclude special rates such as complimentary/award, tour, charter, accommodation or certain travel industry rates. The Member must present his/her TripRewards membership number or card at the rental counter. III. RedeemingA. Redeeming Generally 1. Members can redeem TripRewards points for US, Canada,Ireland, UK, the Peoples Republic of China and Germany Free Night Rewards asdescribed in Subsection B and C below (collectively referred to as “Free NightRewards”) and for the other rewards listed in the TripRewards rewards schedulefound in the Membership Guide or on the TripRewards website, or by calling TripRewardsMember Services. TripRewards points are not redeemable for cash. 2. Points will be deducted from the Members account at the time the redemption request is made. B. Free Night Rewards for Participating Hotels in the United States or Canada 1. Members can redeem points for one or more free night stays at Participating Hotels ((“Participating Hotel Reward“). A participating Reward is valid only for the room rate and room tax for one single or double standard hotel room. A participating Reward is valid only for the room rate and room tax for one single or double standard hotel room. 2. The number of points required for a “Participating Hotel Reward“ will vary depending on the hotel tier in which the Participating Hotel is categorised. Members may perform a multiple Hotel Chain search for hotel tiers under the redemption section on the TripRewards website or may call TripRewards Member Services for assistance. 3. Reservations for “US & Canada Free Night Rewards“ must be booked at the time of redemption and at least 24 hours in advance of the desired stay. Rooms are subject to availability and all TripRewards and Participating Hotel terms and conditions then in effect. Paper certificates will not be issued for US & Canada Free Night Rewards. 4. Cancellation policies for US & Canada Free Night Rewards are dictated by individual hotels. Please check with TripRewards Member Services at +1-800-FOR-TRIP (+1-800-367-8747) to confirm the Participating Hotel's cancellation policy. If a Member properly cancels his/her reservation through TripRewards Member Services and in accordance with the Participating Hotel's cancellation policy, all points redeemed for the US & Canada Free Night Reward will automatically be returned to his/her account. No points will be re-credited to a Member's account in the event of a “no-show“, a partial use of a US & Canada Free Night Reward, if the Member cancels his/her reservation through a channel other than TripRewards Member Services or if he/she otherwise fails to strictly follow the above cancellation procedures. C. Free Night Rewards for Participating Hotels in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany and the Peoples Republic of China: 1. Members can redeem points for an international Free Night Rewards at participating Days Inn, Howard Johnson, Ramada, and Super 8 hotels in the locations at least 48 hours before desired stay through the following two-step process: 2. Rooms are subject to availability. Certain Blackout dates and arrival and departure restrictions may apply. There may be a limited number of rooms available during peak periods or special events. 3. The number of points needed to redeem for a Free Night Reward at these locations will vary by hotel. 4. Certificates for Free Night Rewards will be issued in the Member's name or in the name of a person designated by the Member. The Certificate will entitle the individual listed on the front of the Certificate to one (1) free night, covering room and tax only, at the Participating Hotel listed on the front of the Certificate. The Certificate holder will be responsible for paying for additional nights not covered by the Certificate(s). The certificate will be posted or faxed to the property on the member’s behalf, based on the member’s preference. 5. A Free Night Reward is valid only for the room rate for one (1) single or double standard hotel room (up to 2 people allowed), including VAT or local taxes. 6. The Free Night Reward may not be combined with any other coupon, offer or special promotion. 7. A major credit card must be provided at the time of reservation and at check-in. 8. A Free Night Reward Certificate may only be returned for points credited to a Member's account if all of the following steps are adhered to: 1) The Member timely cancels (as determined by the local hotel's cancellation policy) his/her reservation by calling TripRewards Member Services at 00-800-87477. 2) The Member returns the Free Night Reward Certificate to TripRewards Member Services no later then 30 days after the date of the free night award or has Member Services notify the hotel if the certificate was sent via facsimile that the free night stay has been cancelled and to discard the certificate. 9. In the event a Member fails to timely cancel a reservation in accordance with the local hotel's cancellation policy and/or fails to arrive at the hotel on the reserved arrival date, the Free Night Reward Certificate will be forfeited and will no longer be valid. 10. The Certificate must be presented to the front desk clerk upon check-in or have TripRewards Member Services send a copy of the certificate via facsimile prior to arrival. Once the Certificate is surrendered, it will be deemed fully used. 11. Members will not accrue TripRewards points or airline miles for any stays using a Free Night Reward Certificate. 12. If due to loss or theft the Member does not have his/her Certificate at the time of check-in, he/she should call TripRewards Member Services at 00-800-367-87477 for a duplicate to be faxed to the hotel. The hours of service are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. If the Member is unable to obtain a duplicate Certificate throughout his/her stay, he/she will be charged the local hotel's standard room rate for the particular day. International Hotel Reservations and Information Ramada Howard Johnson Days Inn Super 8 D. Free Night Rewards for Destination Hotels and Holiday Resorts 1. Members can redeem points for free night stays at participating Outrigger hotels in Hawaii and at participating Sol Melia and Wyndham hotels and resorts around the world ("Destination Hotels and Resorts"). Except for all-inclusive Sol Melia and Wyndham properties, a reward for a Destination Hotel and Resort is valid only for the room rate for one (1) single or double standard hotel room for up to two guests, including VAT or local taxes but not including incidental charges. A reward for an all-inclusive Sol Melia or Wyndham property also includes meals and other amenities. A reward for an all-inclusive Wyndham property is for a double occupancy room only; single guests will not be accepted. 2. The number of points needed for a Destination Hotels and Holiday Resorts Reward will vary by hotel. Visit triprewards.com or call TripRewards Member Services for details at 00-800-367-87477. 3. Certificates will be issued for Destination Hotels and Resorts rewards in the Member's name or in the name of a person designated by the Member. Certificates are valid only for the specific hotel listed on the front of the Certificate. 4. For Destination Hotels and Holiday Resorts Rewards, Members must book their hotel reservations and redeem their points a minimum of three (3) weeks before their desired stay. There are two steps to this process.
5. The Certificate must be presented to the front desk clerk upon check-in. Once the Certificate is surrendered, it will be deemed fully used. 6. Destination Hotels and Resorts rewards are subject to availability and may not be offered during certain holiday and peak travel periods. Certain arrival/departure restrictions, blackout periods and other limitations may apply. 7. Multiple Destination Hotels and Holiday Resorts Reward Certificates can be combined for stays longer than (1) one night. Members are responsible for paying for additional nights not covered by Certificates. Destination Hotels and Holiday Resorts Reward Certificates may not be combined with any other coupon, offer or special promotion for the stay. 8. To cancel a Free Night reward, the member must a) Cancel the hotel reservation (using the reservation number indicated in number 4) in accordance with the local hotel's cancellation policy in a timely manner; b) Contact TripRewards Member Services to cancel this redemption and c) Return the Free Night reward certificate to TripRewards Member Services no later then 30 days after the date of the free night award. Upon completion of both of these steps, all points redeemed for the Free Night reward will be returned to the Member’s account. 9.In the event of a “no-show” or if the Member does not cancel the hotel reservation strictly in accordance with the above stated cancellation policy, the hotel will charge the Member’s credit card for a one night stay at the hotel’s rack rate on that day. 10. Members will not accrue TripRewards points, airline miles or rail points for any room nights using a Destination Hotels and Holiday Resorts Certificate. E. Redeeming for Holiday Rewards 1. TripRewards members may view availability on the TripRewards website and then redeem their points for Holiday NetworkSM resort holiday rentals by calling TripRewards Member Services. Qualifying resort holiday rentals available for a Friday, Saturday or Sunday pick-up only. Members will receive a receipt within the mail confirming their redemption. 2. The member is responsible for verifying all details in the confirmation and notifying TripRewards Member Services immediately by calling 00-800-367-87477 if the confirmation information is incorrect. Changes to any aspect of the confirmation may be treated as a cancellation. 3. All Holiday Network Terms and Conditions apply. 4. See the rewards schedule in the TripRewards member guide or the TripRewards website or call TripRewards Member Services for details. F. Redeeming for Airline Tickets 1. Trip Rewards Members who are members of certain travel rewards programmes operated by airlines that are Rewards Participants, may earn miles in these programmes. See the schedule for a list of current airline Earning Participants. 2. The terms and conditions of the applicable airline programmes govern the redemption and distribution of miles in these programmes. 3. Members should allow 6 to 8 weeks for miles/points to be credited to their airline/rail programme account after their stay. 4. The names of the airline rewards programmes are the registered trademarks of such carriers. F. Redeeming for Airline Tickets 1. The ticket will be a non-refundable, non-changeable coach class ticket, which includes taxes and destination charges. There are actual caps for each airline ticket reward level ranging from $360–$800 USD for the U.S. and $400–$1,000 USD for Canada. Please call TripRewards Member Services for the actual caps. Additional costs, such as overnight delivery, are at the Cardholder's expense. Note: Cardholder may elect to pay any amount over the cap. Round trip flights must originate in the 48 contiguous United States (or Canada). Members must book flights at least 21 days in advance and the trip must include a Saturday night stay. Interim stopovers of more than four (4) hours and en route stopovers except to make direct connections are not allowed. Tickets may be purchased in any designated individual's name, but must be redeemed by the Member or an authorised user on the account. Tickets will be sent to Member's address. Choice of carrier and travelling dates are at the Member's discretion, subject to availability. Reservations exclude the use of charters, wholesalers, or consolidators. Note: reservations on carriers with records of unreliable service, or other indications of unreliability, may not be available. 2. Airline tickets and related services must be booked by Members via the TripRewards website or through TripRewards Member Services. Airline tickets are booked by Sponsor or its designated travel agency on airlines and their partners whose schedules, fares and availability are displayed or published in the airline industry computer reservations system. Charters, wholesalers and consolidators are excluded, and Sponsor may omit other carriers from the Programme at its sole discretion. Certain restrictions may apply including, but not limited to, availability, blackout/embargo dates, geographic limitation, and the price cap shown in the TripRewards rewards schedule. Within such limitations, the Member may choose the airline carrier and his/her travel dates. 3. If a member chooses to redeem for an airline ticket within the three (3) United States Zones, they must choose one zone from below and arrive and depart within that zone.
G. Redeeming for Car Rental Certificates 1. Members can redeem points for either an Avis® or Budget® Reward Certificates. A Certificate entitles the individual listed on the front of the certificate to 1, 2 or 3 weekend days free of the daily time and mileage charge for a:
Requested car size is subject to availability. A weekend period begins Thursday noon and car must be picked up by Sunday 3:00 PM. Car must be returned by Monday 11:59 PM or a higher rate will apply. Certificates are valid only at participating locations in the contiguous U.S. (excluding the New York Tri-State Area) and Canada. Member can also redeem points for a Sixt Rental Car® award voucher. A voucher entitles the individual to any week day or weekend day rental with out any restrictions for any car group from Sixt Rental Car®. Vouchers are available in 25, 50, 75 and 100 Euros off any car rental 2. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance at either the Avis® or Budget® website or by calling their toll reservation number and providing the coupon number on the front of the Certificate. Avis’ Reservation Number Budget’s Reservation Number Sixt Rental Car Information 3. Offer not available during holidays and other blackout periods. Offer only valid on rentals checked out by the date printed on the Certificate. 4. Renter must meet Avis’ and Budget’s age, driver and credit requirements. 5. Upgraded vehicle costs, additional rental days, taxes, licensing fees, optional items such as LDW and other fees are the responsibility of the Member. 6. See actual award certificate for complete terms and conditions. IV. MiscellaneousA. Privacy Policy Sponsor maintains a privacy policy, which is applicable to Members’ participation in the Programme. The privacy policy can be obtained at triprewards.com, by calling 00-800-367-87477 or by sending a written request to the following address: B. Use of personal data The personal data provided by you is controlled by Travel Rewards Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, located in the United States. The personal data that we gather will be processed for the purpose of awarding programme points to your TripRewards Member Account, administering the Programme Service to your Member Account, to service your requests in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Programme, processing credit card payments and to contact you regarding the TripRewards programme. In processing the TripRewards loyalty programme we may pass your personal data to third parties for the purpose of serving your account,, for example (but not limited to) participating loyalty programme hotels, Airlines, car rental and rail services, retail stores and credit agencies, Members of the Wyndham Group and other Programme Partners and Marketing Partners. By completing this membership form you are consenting to the collection, processing, disclosure and transfer of your personal data outside the European Economic Area, including sensitive personal data, for the purpose of enrolling in and administering your TripRewards loyalty programme. |
